What’s the collective noun for a gathering of 50 Morris Dancers and their musicians? A jingle, a stick-rattle, or a jest?
This holiday season, the lively Geraldine-based team of Fiery Peak Morris Dancers have invited guests from all over NZ, plus a few from England and Australia, to join them for a dancing tour of South Canterbury. They will arrive colourfully, bells a jingling, at many South Canterbury public venues, to perform between Friday 4th and Monday 7th January.
Come to see and hear them dance in a colourful spectacle combining English folk customs and Kiwi innovation – it’s a living tradition with many regional variations across England and the world.
