Geraldine is a community blessed with businesses that offer unique products and excellent service, all day, every day, right on our doorstep.
As we slowly return to lower COVID-19 alert levels, our local businesses, run by our friends and neighbours, need and deserve our support. They are us, they employ us, and they support us in so many ways.
Below is the list of businesses that will be opening under Level 3. We will keep adding to the list as more information comes in, so keep checking regularly. Click on the links to go direct to specific business pages and websites for detailed information on opening hours and services.
How can we help?
Explore somewhere new – We all have our favourite shops and businesses. Use this time to check out a business you haven’t used before. Look at them online, give them a call, ask if they stock want you want and need, or ask them if they can get it in for you.
Buy online or by phone – many of our businesses can offer online shopping or will gladly take your order over the phone and deliver to your door.
Takeaway – Dining in is the new dining out and in Geraldine you can even get a tipple to enjoy with that meal!
If in doubt, ask – If you need something but you’re not sure if your local business can provide it, give them a call or drop them an email and ask. You’ll be surprised what lengths they’ll go to help you out!
Loyal Locals – Choosing to spend locally is now more important than ever, but did you know that you can also support our local businesses in other ways?
Check out our new Loyal Locals Challenges which gives ideas on other ways you can support your favourite local businesses, without spending a cent!
Be Kind – Please heed Jacinda’s advice to “be kind” as these businesses do their very best to support us in our time of need and please show your support to them in any way possible.
Totally Locally Google Comma – When researching products or services online, type in the item, add a comma, then type Geraldine. That way you will see if you can buy it locally.
Banks – ATM, online and telephone banking will be available but face-to-face services will be extremely limited in each region. Please see here for further information from each bank on opening hours and services.
Accommodation – Please click here for a full list of commercial accommodation businesses offering accommodation to international travelers, essentials services staff and those needing to self isolate away from families.
