Santa’s Coming to Geraldine! Make a Weekend of It
Christmas cheer is heading our way! Join us on Friday 4 December 2026 at 6.30pm as the Geraldine Santa Parade brings colour, creativity and festive fun to our main street.
This year’s theme, Christmas Around the World, invites everyone to celebrate the traditions and magic of Christmas from across the globe. We’re delighted to welcome back the South Canterbury Pipe Band, alongside our community’s imaginative floats and, of course, Santa himself!
Enter a float and join the fun
Get your workplace, school, club, family or friends together and bring your Christmas ideas to life. We can’t wait to see what you create!

Paper entry forms are also available from the Geraldine Resource Centre.
After the parade, head to the Geraldine Domain from 7.15pm for Family Fun, including a chance for the children to meet Santa.
Stay a little longer
Make time over the weekend to browse Geraldine’s shops for Christmas gifts, catch up over coffee or enjoy a meal out. It’s a lovely opportunity to support local businesses while soaking up the festive atmosphere.
On Sunday 6 December, from noon to 4pm, the Geraldine Kindergarten Christmas Kitchen Walk offers an afternoon of Christmas inspiration while supporting the kindergarten’s new provision for children aged two and under.
Visit eight kitchens around the Geraldine area, with afternoon tea included, plus a complimentary drink and live music at Parkhurst Gardens. The gardens will be open from 2.30pm until 4.30pm, with music weather dependent.
This is an adults-only event, with tickets $40 plus booking fees. Gather some friends and enjoy an afternoon out for a wonderful local cause.
