THERE'S ALWAYS SOMETHING HAPPENING IN GERALDINE
Geraldine has a number of annual events throughout the year, from multi-sport through to cultural and social. Our events calendar has all the details for each of these events, including ticketing and location information.
Geraldine Lions Multi Sport Event
The Geraldine Multi Challenge, previously known as the Geraldine Bike Challenge is a multi-discipline event for bike riders, runners and walkers, of both sexes and all ages. Families are particularly welcome as are serious athletes. In fact there is a category for everyone no matter what your ability. All are welcome. The event is organised by the Geraldine Lions Club with all profits going to the Lions Club of Geraldine Charitable Trust for donation to charitable causes.
Unlike most ukulele festivals, Geraldine Ukefest is a popular winter event that warms up an otherwise chilly season. Since its inception in 2013, it has grown to attract recognition both nationally and internationally. The four day event offers a mix of performance opportunities, workshops and concerts featuring headline acts.
Geraldine Winterlights Festival
The Geraldine Winterlights Festival lights up the beautiful boutique town over the July winter holidays with a large outdoor event for the whole family on the Saturday of the Festival, with a large market comprising arts & crafts stalls, a wide variety of food stalls, a snow mountain, games and entertainment for children, live music and dance, a fire show and a fireworks display. Great winter fun for the whole family.
Geraldine Summer Fete
Treat yourself a day out enjoying the country air and views near our small boutique town at the Geraldine Summer Fete. Hosted in the historic and picturesque Stover gardens, this unique shopping opportunity is a sensational day out for all, so bring your friends and family or come alone and enjoy.
Woodbury Hill Country Challenge
New to the stable of outdoor events for Geraldine, the Hill Country Challenge offers walking, running and mountain biking options from the leisurely historic Station Stroll through to the serious participant's course. Enjoy sweeping views of the Canterbury Plains as you ride, run or walk across historic Orari Gorge Station.
Geraldine Festival (Formerly known as the Arts & Plants Festival)
The Annual Geraldine Festival is a three day event commencing with the Alpine Energy Art Awards which draw entries from around New Zealand. Friday is the renowned Boulevard Market where people stock up on plants and unique crafts while the Saturday Market Day in the Domain is a must for early Christmas shoppers and for families enjoying entertainment on the Domain Oval. The festival is the biggest event on the Geraldine Calendar and must-do!
Geraldine Farmers Market
Each Saturday morning from October to April the Geraldine Farmers Market is open from 9 am to 12.30 pm with a range of stalls to tantalize the taste buds. Set in the leafy splendour of St Mary's Churchyard on Talbot St the market boasts live music, great coffee and plenty of seating to enjoy the atmosphere and watch the world go by.
Geraldine Christmas Parade
Bring the family, friends and even co-workers to this wonderful parade through the streets of Geraldine. Come early, browse the shops, stop for coffee and get your spot. Entertainment afterwards and lots of awards/prizes so plan for the whole evening out. For those of you that would like to partake in the Annual Christmas Parade please contact Janene Adams 027 555 6524 or email email@example.com
Christmas in Geraldine, a Twilight Shopping Experience
