Rangitata Rafts

Rangitata Rafts is located near Peel Forest, 30 minutes from the main Christchurch to Lake Tekapo/Queenstown highway (State Highway 79).

Spectacular Lord of the Rings scenery combined with rafting some of New Zealand’s most exciting stretches of grade 1 – grade 5 white water for 2.5 hours, delicious meals and an amazing atmosphere creates the perfect recipe for New Zealand’s most unique rafting adventure – the Rangitata Gorge.

The Rangitata, a world class rafting river, has one of the biggest water volumes in the country which means that rafters are guaranteed grade 5 rapids on every trip.

With two trips daily (8.30 am and 12.30 pm) you’l definitely be able to find a trip that suits no matter what your schedule.

Enjoy our family fun grade 2 trip, learn the basics of rafting while having lots of water fun, optional swimming and riding the gentle rapids of the lower Rangitata.
