ALWAYS A WARM WELCOME IN GERALDINE
As you’d expect from a town on the inland scenic route (72), Geraldine is the perfect place to stay for the night if you’re heading towards the Southern Lakes, Aoraki/Mount Cook and the Mackenzie district. There are a number of accommodation options, from motels to bed and breakfasts, ideal to rest your head after a long drive or even a long flight.
Alternatively, there’s also plenty of opportunities to stay somewhere more homely. The rich, sprawling farmland and the Southern Alps fringe the district and act as a natural catalyst for many of the district’s farm and home stay establishments. Come and stay with your friendly local hosts and experience a kiwi warmth you won’t forget.
Our local holiday parks and campgrounds have excellent facilities. Get close to nature in Department of Conservation huts in mountain and bush areas, or go all out and book for luxury. Geraldine makes an excellent base to explore the region, especially when you want to enjoy a more relaxed, genuine stay without the bustle! As the beginning of the Starlight Highway to Takapō/Tekapo you are well placed in Geraldine to enjoy the world renowned night skies before getting a great night’s sleep.
Whatever form your bed takes, we hope you enjoy your stay.
